(aka current events)
Current Events is a one-semester course structured to give the student an understanding of current issues in many areas of a political, social, and economic nature. The course emphasizes research done by the student since the topics will fluctuate on any given day, week, or month depending on topics current in the media. Students will be expected to participate in daily classroom discussions as we analyze topics.

Each week, students will find a current news article to share with the class. The Contemporary Issues article summary explanation and rubric is linked above. Students will present their article on either Wednesday or Thursday.
There will be a Current Events Quiz (not graded) each week that will be utilized for classroom discussions.
